Chip Brown from Orangebloods.com is reporting that Big East pimp Notre Dame is seriously considering a move to the Big Ten. But in typical Notre Dame Style, the Irish have a few conditions for their potential new “partners.” First and foremost, ND wants a guarantee they will be the only new member of the league and expansion will stop at 12. Apparently the Big Ten is willing to limit its expansion to one if they can pull in the golden pimp. Multiple other reports indicate Notre Dame wants to maintain its contact with NBC and share in the revenues split with other league members from its ESPN/ABC/Big Ten Network deal. Despite being less relevant than Boise State and Utah over the past two decades, the Irish continue to be treated with white gloves by all parties. Nonetheless, if Notre Dame jumps the Big East may live yet another day. However, the league remains vulnerable to future expansion efforts as long as the eight football schools remain tied to the eight basketball schools.
